Several bugs have been fixed in the ODS & XLSX import/export

A new stable release of the Gnumeric open-source spreadsheet editor used in numerous distributions of GNU/Linux and desktop environments, including GNOME, has been made available for download recently fixing numerous issues with the ODS (OpenDocument Spreadsheet) file format.

According to the official release notes, Gnumeric 1.12.21 adds general plot data specifications and the z-index for line objects in the ODF import/export functionality, supports stroke colors of sheet objects on ODF import, support fill color and type, as well as marker fill and outline colors on ODF import/export.

Noteworthy news in this release: ODS import/export fixes and XLSX import/export fixes,” was stated in the official release announcement for Gnumeric 1.12.21.

Numerous other ODF and XLSX import/export issues have been fixed

Manually positioned charts in multi-chart graphs and series lines styles are now correctly exported via the ODF file format, axes label visibility, extra axis lines, fonts in charts, and additional axes are now supported on ODF import and export, some issues with ODF style import of secondary plots and ODF style export for data points in plots have been addressed.

Gnumeric 1.12.21 implements XLSX import and export of sheet widgets, repairs XLSX import and export of patterns, addresses some plug leaks, repairs the arrow properties editor, fixes XLSX export of line styles, fixes a search-and-replace issue with text format, fixes XLSX import and export of gradients, and repairs some undo issues with the scrollbars.

Furthermore, the spinner properties dialog has been fixed in Gnumeric 1.12.21, which also brings SheetObjectImage and Namespace fixes, repairs an issue that occurred when reading images from the XLS file format, improves the test suite, and addresses several DTD version problems.
