Jean Manuel-Croset talks with Business Insider India

We reported earlier this week that Mandriva S.A., the French company that handled the Mandriva Linux operating system, was in the process of being liquidated.

Business Insider India took a step further in the whole story and reached out to Mandriva's CEO, Jean Manuel-Croset, who joined the company back in 2011, to ask him what exactly happened.

Long story short, it would appear that, according to Mr. Manuel-Croset, Mandriva S.A. was put out of business by numerous employee lawsuits, which is a very sad thing.

"Mandriva SA went out of business following a few court decisions upon action of former employees, who had been dismissed as a part of the restructuring process in 2013," says Jean Manuel-Croset, Mandriva CEO for Business Insider India.

We recommend reading the entire Business Insider article to learn more about this touchy subject.

Update: A previous version of the article noted the fact that former Mandriva employees who left the company back in 2013 are now part of the Mageia project. We have reached out to Mageia and it turns out we were wrong. We apologise to Mageia for any inconvenience that this may have caused. Current Mageia members were not involved in any lawsuit with Mandriva.
