Fedora Project was extremely proud to announce the release of the highly anticipated Fedora 22 Linux operating system, including all of its flavors, last week, on May 26, 2015.

Since we didn't have the time to introduce you guys to its new features and to offer you our regular screenshot tour series, we will do that now, starting with this article about the Workstation edition of Fedora 22.

Fedora 22 Workstation is the primary flavor of the operating system, and it is always built around the latest stable version of the GNOME desktop environment. So, this release is currently based on the GNOME 3.16 series.

Of course, being based on GNOME 3.16, Fedora 22 Workstation inherits all of its impressive features, such as the revamped notification system. Notifications are now being displayed as an interactive pop-up in the middle of the top panel.

Also, the notification system has now been integrated with the Calendar applet, and you will now receive notifications from the Terminal app, every time a long job is completed.

The theme suffered many changes, and it now looks modern, with a flat-ish design. Additionally, the scrollbars on all windows now have overlay indicators (also known as Overlay Scrollbars).

GNOME Software as the default package manager

The GNOME Software application is now mature enough to become the default graphical package manager in Fedora 22 Workstation, offering you a great package management experience, while also making it easier for you to install, update, or remove apps.

Furthermore, the Nautilus (Files) file manager received many improvements, the default image viewer, Eye of GNOME, now has a brand-new, darkish look, and you will find many other useful apps that will make you want to use Fedora 22 Linux every day.

In conclusion, we will let you now enjoy the attached screenshot tour, which you can access below, and you can download Fedora 22 Workstation Live CD right now via Softpedia for 32 and 64-bit architectures.
