Ringo de Kroon, Manajaro community support and IRC manager, had the great pleasure of announcing a few minutes ago the immediate availability for download of the Manjaro Linux Cinnamon 0.8.13 distribution.

Powered by Linux kernel 3.18 LTS, the final version of Manjaro Linux Cinnamon 0.8.13 arrives today, June 27, with the latest Cinnamon 2.6 desktop environment, support for systemd's logind and ConsoleKit's UPower, as well as support for multi-monitor and multi-panel configurations.

Many of the issues people had with the Cinnamon desktop environment where the desktop environment could freeze have been repaired because of the addition of a newer Cogl API, and the overall responsiveness was greatly improved to eat less RAM and CPU on low-end machines.

Additionally, the Xscreensaver has been included in the ISO image to provide screensaver support, support for adding, removing and configuring panels and applets individually. The ability to move them between multiple monitors has been added, and the System Settings panel got redesigned.

Various applet improvements also landed in Manjaro Linux Cinnamon 0.8.13 and users can now use the presentation mode. Also, the Nemo file manager has been updated with a brand new plugin manager, and users will notice several accessibility enhancements around the Orca screen reader and magnifier.

"The Manjaro Community is proud to present to you our Cinnamon 2.6 Edition," says Ringo de Kroon. "This release comes with Cinnamon 2.6, linux318 kernel and all the usual Manjaro and upstream updates."

It includes the latest Thus installer

In addition to the changes mentioned above, the Manjaro Linux Cinnamon 0.8.13 operating system also includes the latest Thus installer, which has numerous improvements, especially adoption to the Cinnamon 2.6.8 desktop environment.

Last but not least, the command-line installer has been updated to adopt syslinux changes and initramfs/vmlinuz renaming, and to introduce a new option for configuring the keyboard. Download Manjaro Linux Cinnamon 0.8.13 right now from Softpedia.
