On June 27, Canonical's Alejandro J. Cura sent some emails to the Ubuntu Touch mailing list, informing users and developers about the latest developments in the mobile operating system that powers Ubuntu phones.

Therefore, we can report that a lot of work has been done for a brand-new thumbnailer, especially when used with GStreamer to create screenshots of video streams. Users and developers are being asked to test the new thumnailer and report any bugs they may encounter.

"We’ve been working on a rewrite of the thumbnailer service, as used by the Camera and Gallery apps, and by several scopes, to quickly fetch, resize and cache images from pictures and videos," says Alejandro J. Cura. "We want to ask you all to test it and report any issues."

More work was done for refunds in the Wily Werewolf (Ubuntu 15.10) branch, for apps purchased from the Ubuntu Store in the first 15 minutes after installation, as reported by Softpedia a few days ago, which should arrive soon in the Vivid Vervet (Ubuntu 15.04) branch as well.

Ubuntu Touch will also get support for WPA-Enterprise in both the network indicator and system settings, Snappy Scope integration tests were added, and various improvements were done for the developer-oriented documentation for the Go Scope bindings.
