14 DAY TRIAL // uReadIt is as a native application for Ubuntu Touch for browsing Reddit. It's one of the best of its kind, and it can easily compete with any other similar app from other platforms.
The uReadIt app is developed by Michael Hall, who also happens to be one of the community managers from Canonical. He's been working on this app for quite some time, and he managed to get feature ready in a very short amount of time. This is the third major iteration of uReadIt, and it looks that he's not stopping here. A new major release is planned, and new features are already being considered.
The interesting thing about uReadIt, besides its great functionality, is the development process, which is somewhat unique. The application itself is free, but if you want to download the latest development version you have to pay for it. If you think about it, this is actually the other way around. Some open source project will be free during the development stage, but they will cost money when they become stable.
Users who are willing to pay money for an application still in development will probably be more inclined to provide precious feedback.
What's new in uReadIt 3
The developer added a bunch of new features including a better subreddit subscriptions panel, Default and Search views for subreddits panel, and a refined message reply UI. Also, the subreddit scroll position is now remembered when the app has been force-killed, an 'About' page with build version and date has been added, a loading indicator to subreddit and comments pages has been implemented, keyboard navigation shortcuts are now available, and a workaround has been added for some Imgur page load bugs.
