With only a couple of days left until the official launch of the OTA-5 software update for the Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system, Canonical's Łukasz Zemczak has sent in his daily report informing users about some interesting aspects of the Monday launch.

According to Mr. Zemczak, it appears that users of BQ Aquaris E4.5 and Aquaris E5 HD smartphones will be the first to receive the update, as Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition owners must wait a little bit longer for it, as it should land on their devices later that day.

"The OTA-5 arale customization hook fix is now in QA testing - we should have it ready for the release on Monday. The plan is to release the BQ updates on Monday morning and Meizu a bit later that day, giving more time in case the custom tarball operations take a bit longer," says Łukasz Zemczak.

As we've reported earlier this week, the launch of the Ubuntu Touch OTA-5 update has been set for Monday, July 20, 2015, and we've also told you everything there is to know about the new features and bugfixes implemented in the major software update for Canonica's mobile operating system.

In the same report, Łukasz Zemczak informs us that the huge Mir 0.14 release should land pretty soon for the Wily Werewolf (Ubuntu 15.10) branch with numerous goodies, which will also be implemented in Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) in the near future.

Also, it looks like the issues users had with MMS on T-Mobile US networks are now fixed, a new network-manager landed, the emulator image builds have been fixed, and work on the Bileto spreadsheet replacement will start soon, as the team plans on removing the "temporary" automated spreadsheet solution.
