It has recently been brought to our attention that someone made use of the generic Ubuntu MATE 15.04 root file system for aarch32 (ARMv7) based devices introduced a while ago, to run the famous Linux distribution on an MK808B Plus Quad-Core mini TV box device.

Usually, the MK808B Plus TV box is shipped with the Android 4.4 operating system, but a skillful Italian user who goes by the name of qaz 2 has recently posted a video on his YouTube channel informing us all that the Ubuntu Mate distro runs perfectly on MK808B Plus.

In the six-minute-long video, you can watch how qaz 2 successfully installs the Ubuntu Mate 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) operating system on the MK808B Plus TV box stick, which, after a reboot, loads the MATE desktop environment of the acclaimed distribution without any issues.

Of course, being an Italian user, he installed the Italian version of Ubuntu MATE, but it is enough proof to show us all that the Ubuntu Linux operating system can run on virtually any device. However, please note that, if you install a different OS than the one shipped with MK808B Plus device, you will definitely lose your warranty.
