The Qt Company, through Eike Ziller, had the great pleasure of announcing earlier today, August 20, the release and immediate availability for download of the final version of Qt Creator 3.5.0.

Qt Creator 3.5 is a major release that adds numerous new features, fixes bugs reported by testers during the development cycle of the 3.5 branch, cleans up the code, and deprecates unmaintained features.

Prominent features of Qt Creator 3.5 include better performance when compiling the software with journald support under GNU/Linux operating systems, better support for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Additionally, there's better support for Android 64-bit development, Google's AVDs (Android Virtual Devices) improvements, multiple global search performance improvements, and highlighting support to the editors’ vertical scroll bars.

It would appear that the main star of the Qt Creator 3.5 release is the new highlighting feature, as it allows users to easily see the location of warnings, errors, breakpoints, bookmarks, as well as search results in an opened document.

"We are happy to announce the release of Qt Creator 3.5.0," says Eike Ziller. "Please have a look at our change log for more details. Many thanks go to all the contributors that made this release happen!"

Support for BlackBerry 10 development has been dropped

For the Windows platform, there's a fix for an issue that could lead to freezing of the Qt Creator software for a few seconds when a user application was running. Due to lack of a maintainer, Qt Creator 3.5 drops support for BlackBerry 10 development.

However, the good news is that QNX development is not affected by the removal of BlackBerry 10 support. Lastly, there's various improvements to Qt Creator’s own C++ code model, as well as Clang-based code model enhancements.

Download Qt Creator 3.5.0 for GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X operating systems right now from Softpedia or directly from the project's website. The binary packages have been updated to use Clang 3.6.
