Zbigniew Konojacki, the creator, maintainer and lead developer of the 4MLinux distribution, has been more than happy to inform Softpedia earlier today, September 8, about the immediate availability for download of the final release of 4MLinux 13.1.

After being in the Beta stages of development for quite some time now, the 4MLinux 13.1 operating system has been declared stable as of today, September 8, 2015, and it is available for download right now from our website (see link at the end of the article).

According to Mr. Konojacki, it would appear that 4MLinux 13.1 is powered by a kernel package from the Linux 3.18 LTS (Long-Term Support) series and uses the latest GTK+ 3.x toolkit for the graphical user interface and applications.

"I am happy to announce that the stable version of 4MLinux 13.1 is ready for download. Four major changes in this release: the Linux 3.18 LTS kernel series is now included in the core of the system," says Zbigniew Konojacki.

Moreover, the X.Org Server and Mesa 3D Graphics Library packages have been completely rebuilt to ensure full 3D support for modern graphics cards. The 4MLinux Legacy Installer has been included as well, allowing users to install the distro on old PCs.

Download 4MLinux 13.1 right now from Softpedia, where the GNU/Linux distribution is available for free as a Live CD ISO image, engineered to run on both 32-bit and 64-bit machines.
