Today, September 20, we were expecting to download the final release of the Manjaro Linux 15.09 operating system, but it looks like Manjaro's Philip Müller has just announced the release of the fourth build of Manjaro Linux 15.09.

Both KDE and Xfce editions of Manjaro Linux 15.09 have received an extra RC (Release Candidate) build, most probably because some critical bugs need fixing, so you are urged to download these releases, test them, and send feedback to the Manjaro developers. Detailed information about the Manjaro Linux Xfce 15.09 RC4 release can be found in a separate article.

We remind you that the final version of the Manjaro Linux KDE 15.09 operating system will ship with the long-term supported Linux 4.1 kernel, which will support all of your modern hardware components and includes some of the most advanced Linux technologies, the latest KDE Plasma 5.4.1 desktop environment, the KDE Applications 15.08.1 software collection, as well as KDE Frameworks 5.14.0.

"We decided to do another release candidate for Manjaro 15.09. With this release we have focused our efforts, bringing more attention to the common core requirements of Manjaro's broad user-base," says Philip Müller. "Our KDE edition continues to deliver this powerful, mature and feature-rich desktop environment with a unique look-and-feel, and with the perks of Manjaro's latest tools."

Highlights of Manjaro Linux KDE 15.09

Prominent features of Manjaro Linux KDE 15.09 include redesigned Menda theme, now based on the beautiful Vertex theme, initial support for the Linux 4.3 kernel series in the Manjaro Settings Manager utility, the latest versions of the Pamac and Octopi package managers, as well as the addition of Calamares as an alternative graphical installer to Thus.

At the moment of writing this article, we have no idea when the final release of the Manjaro Linux 15.09 distribution will hit the streets, but we can guess that it will be sometime around the middle of next week. In the meantime, you can download the Manjaro Linux KDE 15.09 Release Candidate 4 build right now from Softpedia. Please try to keep in mind, though, that this is a pre-release version, not suitable for production use.
