The guys over Orange Pi have announced a new, cheaper version of their well-known Orange Pi 2 SBC (Single-Board Computer), which is dubbed Orange Pi PC, it's open source, and it's available for only $15 (€13).

Boasting an AllWinner H3 Quad-core Cortex-A7 H.265/HEVC 4K CPU, Orange Pi PC ships with a Mali400MP2 GPU that runs at 600MHz and supports OpenGL ES 2.0, 1GB DDR3 that is shared with the GPU, a 10/100M Ethernet RJ45, a TF card, and an MMC card slot.

Additionally, it comes with a CSI input connector Camera, a mic, a 3.5 mm Jack, an HDMI port, three USB 2.0 ports, one USB 2.0 OTG port, a 40 Pins Header that is fully compatible with the Raspberry Pi B+ single-board computer.

Best of all, Orange Pi PC comes with support for running the Ubuntu and Debian GNU/Linux distributions, Google's Android mobile operating system, as well as the Rasberry Pi and Banana Pi images.

"Orange Pi PC is for anyone who wants to start creating with technology - not just consuming it. It's a simple, fun, useful tool that you can use to start taking control of the world around you," said the Orange Pi developers.

What can Orange Pi PC do for you?

If you're wondering what you can do with this tiny and cheap single-board computer, we can tell you that it can be used to build a personal computer, a wireless server, as well as to use it for playing games, listening to music, and watching HD videos.

But being an open-source single-board computer, the Orange Pi PC can be used to build or run anything you can think of. You can even use it to build a speaker or use the Scratch free programming language to code.

Orange Pi PC is available for purchase on the official Orange Pi website for the sum of $15 (€13), which is almost as cheap as the recently released $9 C.H.I.P. Linux computer. More details about Orange Pi PC can be found on the product's page.
