On December 18, Mr. Łukasz Zemczak sent in his daily report to inform all Ubuntu Phone users and Ubuntu Touch developers about the latest updates pushed to the stable branch of Canonical's mobile operating system.

According to Mr. Zemczak, the day of December 18, 2015, was a busy day for Ubuntu Touch developers and testers, as they managed to push new massive updates for the Mir display server and UITK (UI Toolkit), as well as new and improved versions of the Web Browser, Address Book, QtPim, and Buteo apps.

Users are being informed that the latest Web Browser improvements landed in the Ubuntu 15.04-based channel instead of the Xenial Xerus (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS) one, which was put on hold because of an issue with the Oxide-Qt video player that did not allow the Web Browser app from being successfully built.

"A busy day for developers and testers today. On this magical Friday we had another big UITK (bugfixes, new Toolbar component, test fixes) and webbrowser-app landing happening which was currently only released to the vivid-overlay - due to oxide-qt issues on xenial not allowing webbrowser-app building correctly," said Łukasz Zemczak, Ubuntu Foundations.

The big Mir 0.18 display server landed

Another great addition to the stable and development branches of the Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system is the big Mir 0.18 display server, which includes a great number of enhancements and bugfixes. With this occasion, the Ubuntu Touch developers also managed to update the image channels document, making it clearer for those who want to try out various branches of the mobile OS.

Furthermore, they managed to make a few minor improvements to the issue list of the daily landing emails so that those who read them can see three new sections. They are devel issues, blocking issues, and issues in need of attention. This should make things much easier for Ubuntu Touch developers when attempting to fix the most important problems.
