On Christmas Eve, Arjen Balfoort from the SolydXK project announced the immediate availability for download of new builds for the SolydX and SolydK GNU/Linux distributions.

Based on the Debian GNU/Linux 8 (Jessie) operating system, SolydX 201512 and SolydK 201512 come as a Christmas gift to all users of the SolydXK OS. They include an improved Live Installer tool that can encrypt partitions, as well as a revamped USB Creator utility that now supports the creation of bootable USB flash drivers for various GNU/Linux distributions.

Among other interesting features introduced in the SolydX 201512 and SolydK 201512 distributions, we can mention the addition of new icons for the Update Manager tool that can indicate the application's status, and the ability to right-click to display some useful information on the meaning of the icons.

The left-click functionality has been removed, which means that users must right-click to activate the Update Manager tool. The community editions of SolydX 201512 and SolydK 201512 distros have also been released, based on Debian Testing, but offering both 64-bit and 32-bit installation media.

Download the SolydX 201512 and SolydK 201512 distributions right now from Softpedia or directly from the project's website. The OSes are officially supported on 64-bit machines, but 32-bit flavors are offered by the SolydXK community, along with SolydX for Raspberry Pi 2.
