Now that we're all enjoying the new features of the Firefox 44.0 web browser on our personal computers, the time has come for Mozilla developers to concentrate their efforts on the next major release.

Firefox 45.0 was pushed to the Beta channel at the end of last week, and the initial release notes are now online, and this has made us curious about the upcoming features that Mozilla has planned for the web browser, which should see the light of day on March 8, 2016.

And so we’ve taken it for a quick test drive on our Ubuntu Linux machine to find out that Mozilla is once again bragging about the GTK3 integration for GNU/Linux operating systems, which was promised to users since Mozilla Firefox 42.0 and delayed a couple of times due to some technical difficulties.

Finally, all the drop-down lists and buttons now look modern. It really makes a big difference when you work all day long with forms, as we do, and we can't wait until March 8 to get the final release of the web browser, so we're sticking with the Beta! Check the gallery below for details.

What else is new in Mozilla Firefox 45.0

Besides the GTK3 integration for Linux systems, the upcoming Mozilla Firefox 45.0 web browser promises to add a new "Synced Tabs" button in the button bar, introduce a new about:config preference that lets users block .onion at the Domain Name System (DNS) level, and offer instant browser tab sharing via the Hello feature.

Furthermore, Firefox 45 promises to list the tabs that have been synced from other devices via Firefox Accounts in the drop-down area of the Awesome Bar during searches, as well as to properly redirect URLs that contain a Unicode-format IDN (Internationalized Domain Name).

Of course, there will be a bunch of new features for web developers, as well as various HTML5 improvements. Also, the Tab Groups (Panorama) feature has been removed from Mozilla Firefox 45.0. You can download the first Beta build of Firefox 45.0 for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems right now from Softpedia.
